The biennial New South Wales Premier's Prize for Literary Scholarship ($30,000) is made to an outstanding book, CD ROM or DVD that presents an original and convincing perspective on one or more published works of acknowledged excellence and historical renown from any language, literary or cultural tradition. Past winners include Barry Hill - Broken Song: T.G.H. Strehlow and Aboriginal Possession, Terry Collits - Postcolonial Conrad: Paradoxes of Empire and William Christie - Samuel Taylor Coleridge: a Literary Life. The NSW Premier's Prize for Literary Scholarship will be offered again in 2012. |
