NSW Premier's Literary Awards 2010

The Christina Stead Prize ($40,000), named in honor of the highly acclaimed Australian novelist and short-story writer, is offered for a book of fiction. The award may be made for either a novel or a collection of stories.

Previous winners of the Christina Stead Prize include David Malouf, Kate Jennings, Robert Drewe, Michael Meehan and Michelle de Kretser.

This year, the shortlisted writers for the Christina Stead Prize will also vie for the new People's Choice Award.
